3 Fall Recipes with Figs 🍂

Falling for Fall 🍂✨

Even though I’m a summer child through and through, this year I found myself waiting for fall. Maybe it’s the feeling of a new chapter, maybe it’s just that craving for cozy… but something about this season feels like a warm hug.

The cooler air makes me want to curl up under fuzzy blankets, light a candle that smells like cinnamon or pumpkin spice, and lose myself in a Harry Potter marathon or a good book. And of course, it makes me want to get back into the kitchen and play with fall flavors.

Last year, I had a big discovery: figs.

Yes, figs! I never really ate them before, until I visited my grandma at the perfect time last summer. She has two beautiful fig trees in her garden, and she practically begged me to pick some to take home. I wasn’t convinced at first… but after one bite, I was in love. Sweet, soft, and perfectly unique, figs quickly became my favorite fall ingredient.

Today, I’m bringing you three quick and easy fig recipes to celebrate the season. They’re simple, delicious, and they prove that combos which might sound a little unusual at first… can actually turn out magical. ✨

Recipe No. 1 - Honeyed Feta & Fig Pockets 🥐

These are little golden pillows of happiness.

Here’s how to make them:

  • Cut a light puff pastry into rectangles

  • Crumble feta cheese and place fig slices diagonally across

  • Drizzle with honey

  • Fold in two opposite corners and press gently with a fork to seal

  • Brush with an egg and bake at 200°C for about 30 minutes or until golden

  • Let cool slightly, then drizzle with just a touch more honey

Crispy, sweet, salty - an irresistible bite.

Recipe No. 2 - Rustic Fig Galette with Sheeps Curd 🧀

This one looks stunning and only takes minutes to prepare.

Here’s how to make it:

  • Spread sheeps curd across a light puff pastry, leaving the edges bare

  • Arrange fig slices on top

  • Drizzle with honey

  • Pinch the edges all around to create a crimped border

  • Brush the edges with an egg and bake at 200°C for about 20 minutes

Elegant, rustic, and so perfect for a fall brunch table.

Recipe No. 3 - Cinnamon Fig Swirls 🍥

This one is my newest obsession - like cinnamon rolls, but with a figgy twist.

Here’s how to make them:

  • Spread a thin layer of butter over a light puff pastry

  • Sprinkle generously with sweetener (I use Diawellness 1:4) and lots of cinnamon

  • Add thin fig slices in neat rows

  • Cut into strips, roll carefully, and press down the center slightly to keep the shape

  • Bake at 200°C for about 20 minutes

  • Optional: drizzle with a light icing (Greek yogurt, vanilla, sweetener)

Warm, spiced, fruity, and honestly addictive.

Welcoming Fall 🍂

So here we are, the first fall recipes of the year, and definitely not the last. I can’t wait to create more cozy dishes with figs, pumpkins, apples, and all the other flavors of the season.

Here’s to cozy nights, golden pastries, and slowing down with food that warms both the heart and the home.

Happy Fall 🤎
